Friends of Cuyahoga DD

Friends of Cuyahoga DD is a ballot issue political action committee (PAC) that supports the Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities (Cuyahoga DD).

20 Years of Fiscal Responsibility

For over 20 years, the Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities (Cuyahoga DD) has made one levy go further than anyone thought possible. That's what responsible stewardship looks like, and our community deserves nothing less.

But our neighbors with developmental disabilities deserve more than just fiscal caution. They deserve the chance to live in their own homes, work meaningful jobs, raise their families, and be fully part of this community.

That's exactly what Cuyahoga DD services make possible every day. Housing support, therapies, employment services, family respite, early childhood programs are lifelines for real Cuyahoga County families.

State and federal funding cover only a small fraction of these costs, and both are increasingly uncertain. Local property tax dollars are the foundation for the services families rely on. Without a new levy, the programs they count on will face cuts we cannot allow.

This November, we will be on the ballot requesting a small increase to fund profoundly important community services.  Without additional funding, the services that keep our neighbors with disabilities healthy and safe will be in jeopardy.

About Cuyahoga DD

Cuyahoga DD serves approximately 15,000 Cuyahoga County residents with developmental disabilities, and it is primarily funded by a 3.9 mill levy that was last approved by Cuyahoga County voters in 2005.
